This is a promotional video and poster series for a lecture series entitled Escape The Earth. The lectures explore the idea that our planet will not last forever and that human beings must eventually set forth into space and colonize a new world or face the prospect of long-term extinction.
The lectures take place over 4 days and include the following themes:
TECHNOLOGY IS KEY:
What is not clear is what humanity will face when escaping the destruction of the Earth; the resources we rely on will be no more. What is clear is that nothing will be more important than humanities ability to adapt; innovative technology will carry us into the next stage of evolution.
CHOOSE WISELY:
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, but more importantly those actions and reactions are the product of choice. Those we choose to make the journey will be the new starting point for the next era of human history.
HARVEST THE SEEDS:
Along with the knowledge of previous human history, growth of new life will be required to fuel future generations, and the knowledge of biology and ecology will at least begin the rebuilding of our eventual new home.
ESCAPE THE EARTH:
The dangerous unknowns of the vastness of space lie ahead. The destruction of everything that we have ever known lies behind. The pilgrimage of the survivors is not an option. Where will they go? What does the journey entail?
